Fouad Barbar has a broad and extensive experience in corporate matters in the UAE, for more than a decade, including corporate structuring/restructuring, negotiations, mergers & acquisitions, insurance, intellectual property, oil & gas, hospitality, corporate finance and real estate matters.

Prior to co-founding Mitchel & Partners, he was a partner at a regional law firm, practicing first in Dubai between 2006 and 2011 and subsequently in Abu Dhabi from 2011 until 2015, as the head of the office; he was responsible, inter alia, for managing a team of lawyers in both the corporate and the dispute resolution departments.

Fouad Barbar advised a myriad of multi-national companies, family businesses, SMEs, and HNWI; A list of the major matters he handled includes:

- Head of a legal team that handled a Multi-Million Euros, GCC cross-border, acquisition exercise for the account of a CAC- 40 listed company;
- Head of a legal team that handled the acquisition of the UAE subsidiary of an industrial conglomerate publicly listed in Korea and Singapore;
- Drafted for one of the major insurance companies in the world, insurance policies falling under the UAE Law;
- Advised and structured a crowdfunding platform and one of the first specialized Fintechs in the region;
- Drafted all legal documentation including, sale and purchase agreements, development contracts, owners association documents, contracts with banks, and developments’ rules and regulations related to (i) a master-development and (i) a development in the Emirate of Abu Dhabi;
- Advised one of the major aeronautic companies in the world, on regulatory matters falling under the Dubai Financial Market (DFM) regulations;
- Advised an international North American Bank on assets securitization procedures under the UAE Law;
- Advised an international French Defence company on Offset rules and regulations under the UAE Law;
- Advised a group of international investors on regulations related to new company’s listings on the Abu Dhabi Securities Exchange (ADSE);
- Assisted in creating a regional burger franchise brand; and
- Represented an internationally renowned football player in the creation of a TV Show.
